     LET'S REVIEW

There are six phases to hockey - a defensive and an attacking phase for each of the three zones on the ice.

All phases are important - goals against (defensive failures) are just as important as goals for (attacking successes).

Defense begins when the other team gets the puck, not when they get into our zone.

All six players play defense, not just the goalie and two defensemen.

You skate fast and hard all the time, not just when you have the puck.

You maximize your speed in the attacking zone (Phase 6) by skating hard in the neutral zone (Phase 5).

Forwards maximize their ability to help defensively by skating back as fast as possible, even if they are at first behind the play.

CONCLUSION - GO READ THE ATTENTION AGAIN!!!!!

That's a lot to think about.  It's too much to work on all at once, so I suggest each of us start by trying to improve the phase we think we do worst as an individual.  We are already a team with good position play and good passing.  We can improve
every week.

Sincerely,

Don W.
