When I first called Mike at Honda-Suzuki of Salt Lake, he probably thought I was crazy.  I proposed to him that I buy a Honda XR650L motorcycle over the phone and pick it up a month later to ride it back to Virginia.  I wish I could have seen the expression on his face.  My cell phone was cutting out because at that time my wife and I  were driving through a remote part of Georgia on our way from Cape Canaveral, Florida, to Virginia.  So we pulled off to use a pay phone.  Fifteen minutes later I had given Phil my credit card number for a deposit on the motorcycle and agreed to finish the purchase by mail.

    Mike and Phil were ready for me when I arrived and treated me in a courteous and friendly manner.  The motorcycle was ready, and after a quick check of my Virginia title and registration, and a little help in mounting the National Cycle windshield I brought with me, I got on my new Honda and followed my son home.  It couldn't have gone better if I had scripted it.
 

    I came back Saturday morning so they could do the 600-mile checkup.  The Service Department treated me just as well.  They finished the checkup promptly and assured me everything on the motorcycle was OK.  I proved them right over the next 3000 miles.

    My business with Honda-Suzuki of Salt Lake was absolutely first-class.  Highly recommended.  Remember, I said they had two XR650Ls, so if you can't find one in your local area, you might consider calling them.
