The Fairfax Senators are an adult amateur
ice hockey team playing in the Novice League at Fairfax Ice Arena in Fairfax,
Virginia. About ten teams in the Fairfax Novice League play approximately
20 games per season. Each game session provides a half hour of instruction
and practice, followed by a one-hour game of two twenty-minute periods
and one fifteen-minute period, running time. All hockey competition
at Fairfax Ice Arena is no-check, in contrast to professional hockey and
most college and high school hockey, which permit full body checking.
Fairfax Ice Arena hosts four other hockey leagues above the Novice level, Intermediate B, Intermediate C, Masters B, and Masters C. The Masters leagues are for players over age 30. If you are interested in playing hockey in Northern Virginia,
please see the Fairfax Ice Arena
web site or call 703-323-1132.
